On the afternoon of September 19th, sounds of shelling echoed across the entire territory of Artsakh. The Gasparian family lived in the village of Nerkin Horatakh.
Upon hearing the sounds of war, the family took refuge in the basement of their three-story home. It seemed they were in a safe place, and it would soon be over, but an enemy missile, released from an aircraft, struck directly at the Gasparian’s house. Penetrating several floors, it reached the basement where the grandmother slept, embracing Areg. Unfortunately, they both perished on the spot.
Areg’s father returned from duty. Areg, aged 9, and his grandmother were buried in the village, unaware that in a few hours, they would be forcibly displaced from their homeland.
Areg’s parents, along with two daughters and other grandparents, underwent the challenging journey of forced resettlement and settled in Armenia.
📌 The family is a beneficiary of the Hayordi support program ‘Սերտը պեց’.
@armeniafund provided the family with small household appliances.
Major household appliances were received from the @speshikdobru foundation.
We will soon provide additional necessary items.
