To the ‘Angelovo’ Nursing Home with Children from the ‘Happiness Giving Happiness’ Shelter

The long-awaited trip to the “Angelovo” nursing home with the children from the “Happiness to Give Happiness” shelter finally took place on January 19, 2020.
Emotions still overwhelm us… Recalling those precious minutes spent with the grandmothers and grandfathers at the nursing home fills our hearts with warmth.
Their lives were vastly different from ours. They worked under the most challenging conditions since their early school years. Many were participants in World War II, prisoners of concentration camps, or victims of genocide. They endured unimaginable hardships – surviving through cold and hunger – and even after these trials, they toiled away at factory machines for another 40-50 years. The average age of residents at the nursing home is 90, with some exceeding 100. Strong-willed? They are so much more.
Looking at the photos, we realize even deeper that everything in life happens for a reason. Every event carries meaning. Each of us impacts others, every one of us can change another person’s emotional state and rhythm of their heart, and even more, alter their destiny… perhaps everything… all starts with a thought.
By offering care, warmth, love, and bringing joy to others, we find genuine happiness within ourselves. This is true fulfillment.
To feel warmth – through hands.
To know love – through eyes.
To give happiness – by touching the heart.
To be in the right time and in the right place – to be together.
