Dear friends, we are excited to share the results of our work over the past few months. Those familiar with our foundation will remember the story of little Mariam, for whose life we fought with all our might, but fate had other plans… Nevertheless, thanks to you, we raised a significant amount, which we decided to redirect to the treatment of another child. We searched long and hard for a child whom our funds could genuinely help with a guaranteed outcome. By a remarkable coincidence, it turned out that with this amount, we could help two little boys at once.
Now, let’s go through it step by step. Among all the applications, there was a request from the parents of 7-year-old Samvel, diagnosed with 4th-degree hearing loss. At 9 months old, the boy became seriously ill, was hospitalized, and discharged as completely healthy. Samvel developed according to his age, responded to all sounds, and had no issues. But closer to the age of 3, he started having problems with speech and hearing. Doctors discovered 4th-degree hearing loss and fitted him with the necessary device, but the results were disappointing. The only chance for the child to hear the sounds of the world was cochlear implantation. However, the high cost of the surgery was unaffordable for his family. The father is the sole breadwinner, working day and night to feed the family. They barely make ends meet. But seeing the boy, the parents’ efforts, and understanding the gravity of the situation, we couldn’t ignore the problem and decided to help the child regain his hearing. We want to note that many foundations and benefactors refused to help Samvel. The reason was his AGE. At this age, cochlear implantation generally doesn’t yield any results. That’s why everything was delayed. We involved everyone possible to ensure the outcome. Now we are confident that Samvel will hear!
After deciding whom to help, we held lengthy negotiations with doctors and various organizations to get the highest quality treatment for less money. We handled the documentation to ensure everything was done correctly and within the law. And now, we are delighted to announce that our foundation will cover Samvel’s cochlear implantation from the previously raised funds.
