Little Sona became seriously ill at 8 months old.
Endless hospitalizations in different hospitals with viral infections and bacterial complications. After six months of diagnostic searching, doctors realized that the child has the most severe form of combined primary immunodeficiency (Severe Combined Immunodeficiency – SCID).
This is that rare case when all components of the immune system fail, and the person becomes absolutely defenseless against all bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites.

Every day for Sona is about surviving in extreme conditions, every day is a confrontation with a deadly environment…
This type of immunodeficiency is very rare, and now an urgent genetic analysis is being organized to confirm the diagnosis suspected by doctors.

At this stage, Sona is undergoing systemic therapy – antiviral, antifungal, and most importantly, the administration of expensive immunoglobulin G. Every 4 weeks. This is the only way to live, to wait for the diagnosis and, if it’s confirmed, to think about a radical solution – bone marrow transplantation (HSCT – Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation).

It’s vital for her survival in this alien and dangerous world.
