International Down Syndrome Day
❔Did you know that March 21 is recognized worldwide as International Down Syndrome Day?
🔹Statistically, every 700th child is born with this condition. This ratio remains consistent across different countries, climatic zones, social layers, and does not depend on the health and lifestyle of the parents, nor on racial or national origin. There is no fault or blame to be assigned for the presence of an extra chromosome.
✔️It’s important to understand that Down syndrome is not a disease; it cannot be “caught” or “cured.” However, people with Down syndrome can and should be supported.
🔹One of the organizations actively supporting children with Down syndrome is the “Arev Yerexanner” foundation (translated from Armenian as “Sun Children”).
Our friends from this foundation facilitate the social adaptation of children with Down syndrome in Armenia, support their desire for full integration into society, and also strive to change people’s perceptions and attitudes towards this issue overall.
You can learn more about the foundation’s activities by visiting their website: http://downchildren.am
♥️We are all united by one goal – to do good. Therefore, our “Hurry for Good” Foundation is delighted to join the campaign of our friendly foundation “Arev Yerexanner” and to place on our social network avatars photos that inform people about this issue. Join us!
Great deeds start with small steps.
Let’s hurry to kindness together!🕊
