The Story of Viktoria Egiazaryan’s Vision Restoration

Viktoria Egiazaryan, an eight-year-old girl with a vibrant spirit and love for creativity, was born with strabismus in both eyes. From the very beginning, her family faced a daunting challenge—specialized treatment for her condition was not available in Armenia. Determined to help their daughter, they sought medical advice across the country, only to be referred to the “Yasny Vzor” clinic in Moscow for further care.

At the Moscow clinic, doctors discovered additional complications: astigmatism and amblyopia, further complicating Viktoria’s visual development. She underwent her first eye surgery at just 11 months old, followed by a second at 13 months, successfully correcting the strabismus in both eyes. Over the next several years, Viktoria continued regular checkups and follow-up treatments in Moscow, all in the hope of preserving and improving her vision.

By August 2024, Viktoria needed a third surgery—this time to address the astigmatism and begin active treatment for amblyopia. However, the family had exhausted all their savings. With nowhere else to turn, they reached out to the Hurry for Good foundation.

Moved by Viktoria’s story, the foundation launched a dedicated fundraising campaign in collaboration with the IMAST app. The response was immediate and powerful. With the help of generous donors, the campaign reached its goal, ensuring that Viktoria’s surgery could take place without delay.

Thanks to this timely intervention, Viktoria’s vision improved dramatically—her visual acuity increased by 20–30%, and doctors confirmed that both eyes were now functioning almost fully. Most significantly, Viktoria no longer needs to wear glasses. Her quality of life has improved immensely, and her confidence has soared.

A New Chapter of Creativity and Joy

With her vision restored, Viktoria’s creative world has blossomed. She now spends her days joyfully drawing and modeling with clay—activities that had once been limited by her condition. In April, she will begin the second stage of amblyopia treatment, further supporting her recovery.

A Mother’s Gratitude

“On behalf of our family, I express my deepest gratitude to the Hurry for Good foundation, the IMAST app, and everyone who supported us during this difficult time. Your generosity has given Viktoria the opportunity to live a bright and fulfilling life. Her future is now filled with hope, and we will forever be grateful for your kindness.”

Viktoria’s story is a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when we come together. The Hurry for Good foundation is proud to have been a part of her journey and remains deeply thankful to our partners at the IMAST app and every donor who made this life-changing operation possible.

Together, we are restoring hope—one child at a time.
