Meet Alexander, a bright and energetic 3-year-old boy who, despite his tender age, has faced challenges that would test even the strongest among us. Diagnosed with chronic thrombocytopenia, Alexander requires daily medication to manage his condition and prevent life-threatening complications.
Alexander’s journey began with a tough start. At just seven months old, he contracted COVID-19. While the initial symptoms seemed mild, the long-term effects were significant. By the age of one, his parents began noticing unusual bruising after minor falls, which turned out to be far more than the normal bumps and scrapes of an active toddler. After extensive testing, doctors confirmed a diagnosis of immune thrombocytopenia, a condition where platelet levels in his blood drop dangerously low. Platelets are critical for blood clotting, and without sufficient levels, even minor bumps or falls could result in severe internal injuries. One particularly frightening incident occurred when a light bump to his nose caused a nosebleed that wouldn’t stop for 30 minutes, requiring an emergency trip to the hospital.
Thanks to a successful fundraising campaign in collaboration with the IMAST app, Alexander now has the medication he urgently needs. The community’s kindness and generosity ensured the purchase of his prescribed drug, “Revolade,” a life-saving treatment that helps stabilize his platelet levels.
Alexander’s mother, overwhelmed with gratitude, shared her heartfelt thanks:
“We are so incredibly thankful to everyone who supported us. Your generosity has given Alexander the medication he needs to live a safer, healthier life. I cannot express how much this means to us. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to the ‘Hurry for Good’ foundation, the IMAST app, and all the amazing people who stood by us during this difficult time. You have given us hope and the strength to keep fighting.”
With the funds raised, Alexander now has a steady supply of medication, ensuring he can continue to live an active and joyful life. Though his journey isn’t over, the support from this incredible community has made all the difference.
This story is a testament to the power of collective action and compassion. Together, we’ve not only provided Alexander with life-saving treatment but also given his family hope for a brighter future. Thank you for being a part of this journey. Together, we’ve made the impossible possible.
