The Path to Recovery: Anahit Davtyan’s Successful Surgery

We are delighted to share the joyous news about our charge, Anahit Davtyan, who recently returned home to Voronezh after a successful surgery. Anahit was born with grade 4 congenital scoliosis and multiple spinal development pathologies. This condition threatened her ability to walk and lead a normal life, as any awkward movement could result in spinal cord compression and paralysis. An urgent and highly skilled surgery was required to correct the spinal deformity and prevent paralysis. Treatment in Russia did not provide the necessary guarantees, so a trip to Israel was required, where specialists were ready to perform the operation with minimal risks. The cost of the operation was $47,470.49. The girl’s parents approached us with the only hope that we could help save Anahit.

The surgery was performed on July 18, 2018, in Tel Aviv, Israel, by the Ichilov surgical team led by Professor Dror Ovadia. After the operation, Anahit underwent intensive care and began recovery in a ward, where she learned to take her first steps post-surgery. The operation was successful. Anahit returned home to Voronezh and is now undergoing a recovery period. It has become easier for her to breathe, and she feels well. The girl grew by 4 cm, and her back straightened. All this was made possible thanks to the professionalism of the medical team and the caring people who supported the fundraising. The entire process was made possible by numerous people and organizations. Benefactors who made donations, volunteers who supported Anahit’s family, the medical team in Israel, and everyone who reposted and spread information about the fundraising. Special thanks go to Olga Trefz, Svetlana Bagiyan, and Mariam @mm__mariam, who provided immense support.

Thank you for your kindness and participation! Thanks to you, we were able to give Anahit a happy future. Follow our news on social media, and we will keep you updated on all events related to Anahit.
