"Hurry for Good" Foundation

Hasmik Gadyan

We would like to share with you the story of Hasmik Gadyan, whom we helped in 2016 through the #GrowHasmik campaign. In November 2015, Ani and Vachagan reached out to our foundation for help. Their daughter, Hasmik, had been battling a rare disease called “Autoimmune Hepatitis” for the past 10 years. At that time, her condition was critical, and the only thing that could save Hasmik was a liver transplant. Unfortunately, such operations were not performed in Armenia, where the family is from, so they had to leave their homeland and seek other ways to save their daughter.

After a long search, the N.V. Sklifosovsky Research Institute agreed to perform the operation. However, since the girl was a citizen of another country, the surgery was not free, and the amount required was overwhelming for Ani and Vachagan. We immediately empathized with the family’s grief and decided to do everything possible to raise the necessary amount, which was 2,044,532 rubles. The sum seemed enormous and unrealistic, but we were able to do it, and it was worth it!

Thanks to a series of events, such as the charity exhibition-fair “Colors of Kindness,” the charity concert “Evening of Kindness or Kind Evening,” the charity screening of the film “Bride from the North” at the “5 Stars” cinema, and, of course, thanks to the contributions of compassionate people, the required amount was raised! We are still overwhelmed with emotions when we recall those days! Somehow, everything miraculously came together just as we wished with all our hearts.

In May 2016, Hasmik underwent liver transplant surgery. To our great happiness, the operation was successful! The recovery was difficult; the girl had to learn to speak and walk again, but thanks to her immense will to live, Hasmik was able to overcome all these challenges and fully recover. In August 2016, Hasmik and her parents returned to their homeland, Armenia. She resumed her studies at college, and this year she is graduating.

Hasmik is living a beautiful and fulfilling life—studying, making plans for the future, and spending time with friends and family. We are confident that Hasmik has a happy and long life ahead of her. After all, she has already gained the most important and valuable thing—HEALTH.
